Nothing Phone 2a Plus 5-point review: A solid option under Rs 30,000
Nothing has launched the Nothing Phone 2a Plus in India. The smartphone is a great option in its price range and will go on sale starting August 7. Before that, here is a brief overview of our review of the Nothing Phone 2a Plus.
Within just four months of launching the Nothing Phone 2a in India, Nothing has launched another smartphone in the market which is somewhat of an upgraded version of the Phone 2a. The Phone 2a Plus comes with better charging speed, new chipset, better cameras and a beautiful design. We used this smartphone for a week and tested it thoroughly. Our experience was great. We have shared a detailed review of the smartphone. But if you are in a hurry and want to quickly know about the review, here is the Nothing Phone 2a Plus review in 5 points.
Nothing Phone 2a Plus 5 Point Review
– The Nothing Phone 2a Plus features a refined design with its signature transparent aesthetic that features a new texture that uses metallic coils at the back, combined with the grey body. It looks fantastic. As I wrote in the detailed review, “I would go as far as to say that this is probably one of the best-looking Nothing phones”. The plastic body maintains a light and comfortable grip, while the camera setup is noticeably different. The 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display is similar to the Phone 2a, offering great colour accuracy, brightness and responsiveness, although now features an advanced 2160Hz pulse-width modulation (PWM) dimming for better visual comfort.
-The Phone 2A Plus has the same 5,000mAh battery as its previous model, but it improves the charging speed, supporting 50W fast charging compared to the previous 33W. Despite claims of delivering a day’s battery life with a 20-minute charge, my experience showed variation in battery performance depending on the intensity of use. Light users may get a full day’s use, but medium to heavy users may need to charge a second time within a day.
-The Phone 2A Plus offers improved performance with better multitasking and gaming experience thanks to upgrades in both hardware and software. The updated NothingOS is also commendable, which is intuitive, bloatware-free, and customizable. Notable features include a new game mode with improved call management and a new integrated AI-powered News Reporter widget that reads out daily news summaries aloud, enhancing the usability of the phone.
-The camera setup on the Phone 2A Plus has been upgraded, with better sensors for both the main and ultra-wide cameras. While the rear cameras deliver good portrait shots and steady videos, the front camera’s 50-megapixel sensor delivers good selfies, though the portrait mode needs better background separation. Overall, the camera performance is satisfactory for a phone in this price range, capable of capturing Instagram-ready photos.
– The Nothing Phone 2A Plus comes across as a strong contender in the under Rs 30,000 price segment, offering an attractive blend of design, performance and value. Although this phone competes strongly with the 2A, the improvements in design, charging speed and software make it a worthy upgrade, especially for new buyers looking for a stylish and efficient smartphone.
