Nothing has officially launched its latest true wireless earbuds, the Nothing Ear Open, in India. Priced at Rs 17,999, these new TWS earbuds stand out with their open-ear design, a first for the brand, breaking away from the more traditional in-ear style of the previous Nothing Ear and Ear (1). Here are the details.

The recently launched Nothing Ear Open offers a different look compared to its other audio products but retains the company’s signature transparent aesthetic. In India, the Nothing Ear Open will be available in a single White colour variant, though the brand may introduce additional colours in the future as well. Pre-orders for the earbuds are live on Nothing’s official website, with no information on availability through other retailers as of now. This suggests that the company may make this product available a bit late as it is available immediately in global markets.

Nothing Ear Open: Features, Description

While the Nothing Ear Open lacks active noise cancellation (ANC), it comes with a sound seal system and directional speakers, which the company says ensures that only the user can hear the music.

Powered by a 14.2mm dynamic driver with a titanium-coated polyethylene terephthalate diaphragm, Nothing claims that its new earbuds deliver high-quality sound. Other notable features include pinch control, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, dual connection, and AI Clear Voice technology for better call quality.

The Nothing Ear Open comes with an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance, which covers both the earbuds and the charging case. Talking about battery life, each bud has a 64mAh battery, while the case has a 635mAh battery. Nothing claims that the earbuds offer up to 8 hours of usage on a single charge, while up to 30 hours of usage when used with the charging case.

For non-Nothing smartphone users, the Nothing X app is available for download on the Google Play Store and iOS App Store, enabling full functionality and customisation. It also has support for Bluetooth codecs like AAC and SBC.
