Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan suffered serious injuries after an intruder attacked him with a knife at his Mumbai residence on Thursday morning. The 54-year-old actor was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery after the incident which happened around 2:30 am at his Bandra home. As new details emerge about the attack, it comes parallel to a 2011 incident involving Saif’s sister Soha Ali Khan, who faced a similar dangerous situation in her apartment.
In February 2011, when Kunal Kemmu and Soha Ali Khan were dating, they faced a horrifying experience when there was an attempted burglary in Soha’s Khar apartment. After attending the screening of Kunal’s upcoming film, the couple returns to their first floor flat.
After a quiet dinner and conversation, they become alarmed by an unusual noise on the balcony. Kunal immediately went to investigate and was shocked to see that a thief was trying to enter their house.
In a moment of panic, the intruder tried to escape by climbing down from the first floor balcony, but his foot slipped and he fell. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Kunal quickly ran downstairs and managed to catch the thief before he could escape.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the thief had a long history of criminal activities, linked to ten previous cases of home burglary.
A close friend of the couple shared details of the evening with Mid-Day, revealing that Kunal and Soha had just returned from a film screening and were relaxing over dinner when they heard a noise, he said , “When Kunal went to investigate, he saw that the man was trying to run away, in frustration the thief lost his balance and fell, giving Kunal the opportunity to catch him.”
Meanwhile, in the latest developments, Saif Ali… Khan’s The main accused in the case has been caught by Mumbai Police and he has confessed to stabbing the actor during the incident.
The accused has been produced before the court for further police custody. Kareena Kapoor Khan along with her children Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan recently visited Saif at Lilavati Hospital amid heavy security.
