In short

  • Dr. Randeep Guleria did not tell any relation between vaccines and heart attacks
  • ICMR and AIIMS studied in 47 hospitals in 19 states
  • Lifestyle and genetics quoted as the main causes of sudden deaths in youth

Former Emims-Delhi Director Dr. Randeep Guleria commented on the ongoing concerns of Kovid -19 vaccines associated with sudden deaths. He said that the study by the Indian Council of Medical Research and All India Institute of Medical Sciences clearly states that the reported youth deaths are not related to the Kovid -19 vaccines.

“Covid-19 vaccines have some side effects, all vaccines or drugs have some side effects, but there is no link between vaccination and heart attack. None of any studies have shown. One of the causes of heart attack has caused genetty background, lifestyle, lack of physical activity and more people are more and more. Guleria told the news agency ANI.

ICMR and AIIMS have conducted extensive studies, which confirmed that Covid-19 vaccines are not associated with sudden deaths due to a heart attack among young adults, especially after the Union Health Ministry stressed the safety of vaccines, protested the claims of linking vaccines to cardiac fatley.

Studies conducted in 47 hospitals in 19 states, focus on unexplained sudden deaths between adults aged 18 to 45 years. Conclusions indicate that lifestyle, genetic factors and pre-existing conditions are most likely for contributors for such events.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah suggested possible relations amidst covid vaccines and increase in heart related deaths. However, the Union Health Ministry denied any relationship, highlighting scientific evidence supporting vaccine security.

Studies support the importance of understanding comprehensive health references rather than blaming these phenomena alone to vaccines.

To further address these concerns, a multi-central study was started to investigate the sudden deaths of healthy individuals.

The results showed no increase in the risk of sudden death due to covid-19 vaccination, aligning with earlier conclusions by ICMR and AIIMS.

In response to ICMR and AIIMS studies, manufacturers of the Serum Institute of India also strengthened the safety of their vaccines, “vaccines are safe and scientifically valid,” in response to ICMR and AIIMS study.
