Ukrainian President Volodimier Zelansky on Saturday stressed that no decision should be taken on the end of the war of Russia without Kiev and Europe as the United States pushes to interact with Moscow.
Zelansky said at the Munich Suraksha Sammelan, “There is no decision about Ukraine without Ukraine, no decision about Europe without Europe. There should be a seat on the table in Europe.”
US President Donald Trump agreed to meet Russia counterpart Vladimir Putin this week and blinds Ukraine and his European colleagues and began talks on ending the struggle.
Zelancesi has urged Washington to come up with a “general plan” to face Russia, but suggested that there was no joint stance after a meeting with US vice -president JD Wance on Friday.
“We cannot agree only for a ceasefire without a act of actual safety guarantee, without pressure on Russia, without pressure on Russia, without a system to keep Russia in the investigation,” Zelancesi said.
Zelansky said that safety guarantee is required to include powerful sanctions on Russia and to include measures to build Ukraine’s army.
He said that Kiev was “open” to proposals to deploy European soldiers as peace soldiers on the ground, but still needed to “discuss” details with his counterparts on the continent.
The Ukrainian leader said that Washington appeared to be “creating an atmosphere” to negotiate between Trump and Putin.
But he warned that Putin would like to use Trump as “proper in his own performance” – probably by trying to go to Moscow for Russia’s WWII win parade in May.
“We must apply pressure simultaneously – to create real peace,” Zelancesi said.
“Putin cannot offer real safety guarantee, not just because it is a false, but because Russia needs war in its current position to hold power together,” he said.
The Ukrainian leader said that Kiev was still in the “procedure” to discuss a possible deal with Washington on providing access to rare earth deposits in exchange for security aid.
In a comprehensive message to Europe, Zelancesi released a rally crying to the continent “to work for his own” as a threat to Russia.
“Europe needs to come together and start acting in this way that no one can say Europe, boss it around, or behave it like a pushover,” he said, A European army can be asked to form.
