As scheduled, Nio held its Innovation Day event in Shanghai today and one of the most talked-about items was the new Nio Phone 2. Apparently, Nio is sticking to its plan to release phones on an annual cycle and this one is even ahead of schedule, as the original Nio Phone came out in September last year.

The Neo Phone2 is very similar to the original phone in both design and its high-end specs. Of course, the highlight of the Neo Phone2 is going to be the deep integration between the phone and the company’s impressive roster of EVs. Like the original Neo Phone, the Neo Phone2 has a dedicated button on the left side of the frame to control connected car functions. Now, the long-press action on that button can be customized to your preferred phone action.

The Nio Phone2 also naturally acts as a car key. The system includes UWB and Bluetooth for supported cars, making it more secure. Plus, UWB should make it easier to find your car, which is in addition to other convenient features like the ability to automatically park the car’s location and parking space number. It also has NFC key support.

Nio Link is another cool feature that lets you interact with your phone through the car’s infotainment system. Support has been expanded to include more phone apps including gallery, file browse, various office apps, and chat clients.

It has an optical in-display fingerprint reader and a 0815 haptics motor. The battery is a 5,020 mAh pack with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
