Nikkhil Advani: Salman Khan feels bad when his films earn less than Rs 300 crore
In an interview with Lallantop, filmmaker Nikkhil Advani revealed that superstar Salman Khan gets disappointed when his films fail to earn more than Rs 300 crore. He also called the superstar his ‘messiah’.

Filmmaker Nikkhil Advani, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Veda’, spoke to India Today’s sister channel. Lallantop Talking about superstar Salman Khan, he said that Salman feels bad when his films do not earn more than Rs 300 crore. Nikhil Advani and Salman have worked together in films like ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’ and ‘Hero’.
When asked about his lack of collaboration with Salman, Nikhil explained that he prefers to avoid the constant pressure associated with box office performance.
He said in Hindi, “Salman Khan’s films have to earn Rs 300 crore. If his film earns less than Rs 300 crore, he feels very bad. It should be that big. I don’t want that burden. I want to sleep peacefully at night. I don’t want to bear the burden of making a Rs 300-crore film. I want to make the films that I want to make. I love Salman, he is my messiah.”

Nikhil further added, “I have an option, ‘In case of emergency, please call’, Salman is there in my contact list for me. I know he will leave everything and come. Even if he is doing the biggest action scene, if someone calls him, he will say, ‘I will go, this person is in trouble.'”
He said, “He is the messiah of the industry. But I don’t want to take the tension of 300-400 crores. If it happens then it’s great, but I don’t want that tension.”
Nikhil Advani’s ‘Veda’ stars John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh in the lead roles. Apart from them, the film also stars Abhishek Banerjee and Tamannaah Bhatia in important roles. It will release in theatres on August 15.
