plot
Set against the backdrop of London, Nikita Roy (Sonakshi Sinha) is on a mission to resolve the murder of her brother, Sanal Roy (Arjun Rampal). Brother -in -law are part of a community that are committed to dismissing superstitious beliefs and destroying attractive businesses that flourish on them. His investigation directs him directly to the powerful Godman Amar Dev (Paresh Rawal). Unfortunately, they are completely on their own in this fight. The story rests on whether Nikita can peel the careful mask of Godman.
what works
The work that Nikita does for Roy is that it does not come in preaching or melodramatic tone. Some awesome views, extended by a chilling background score, manages to give cow pumps. The editing is crisp, and the real drama kicks at the post-interval, so hips tight through the slow build-up of the first half.
What not
The film begins like a whodunnit, then tries to explain to you that it is a scary, only to pive into the thriller area – yes, it is as misleading as it seems. PK to Saurabh Shukla’s story is fixed. The establishment of supernatural drama in London is also not enough. Indian audiences are more likely to connect superstitions with rustic villages removed in coastal or desert areas. Nikita Roy feels out of place, lifting the bar for thriller with works such as Brahmagam and Tambbad. If the comparison is closed, this is because there is also a storyline.

Exhibition of
Given the correct push, Sonakshi Sinha can actually bring her A-game, she proves that in the robber and the day. Here, as Nikita Roy, she is fine-Ish. I waited for a few moments of that raw, unfund breakdown, explosive grief or anger, but it was all very silent for the situation.
As Suhail Nayar Jolly, a social media star and in love with Nikita is shocked. It is not clear whether his distressed British pronunciation was deliberately, but it is angry after a point. I lost the count of how many times I said “right” in that exaggerated tone.
Paresh Rawal is a great actor who is an undisputed property for Indian cinema, but Nikita Roy will not be a film to be remembered to show her talent. In some alternative universe, a crossover conversation between Amar Dev and Kanji Bhai from Oh My God will be more entertaining and will definitely be burnt through more popcorn.
Arjun Rampal’s special presence in the form of Sanal Roy is blind (if there is nothing), and a shout for Kalliroi Tziyafeta (Freya), which proves its subtlety with a few minutes of screen time.
final call
With a tight, more harmonious script, Nikita Roy could do justice under the direction of Kush Sinha. See this only when you are a dying Sonakshi Sinha fan. Otherwise, one time watch will not harm you.
