News agency steps up security after knife attack threat against group
ADOR has taken immediate action in response to online threats against Newseens. Strict security measures are being implemented at their upcoming concert venue, and a police investigation is ongoing.
ADOR has responded to an online threat against the Newseens group. SoompiA post was made online on Monday with a photo of the knife. It was posted with the caption, “I bought this to use at the Newsies concert.” The knife was reportedly purchased from an online marketplace.
In the post, the man threatened to use a knife against the Newsens members when they exited the van. On Tuesday, June 25, ADOR released a statement saying, “Currently, we are preparing to enhance security measures in collaboration with the Japanese concert planning company. Also, in Korea, the police are investigating, and we are actively participating in the investigation. We are making every effort to ensure that the artists can safely participate in the scheduled activities.”
NEWGEN will hold its first Japanese fan meeting, Bunnies Camp 2024, on June 26-27 at the Tokyo Dome.
On March 26, Newgins officially announced their comeback and Japanese debut. On May 24, Newgins made their comeback with a double single containing four tracks – ‘How Sweet’, ‘Bubble Gum’ and instrumental versions of both songs.
NEWGEN made their Japanese debut on June 21 with another double single consisting of four tracks: the title track – ‘Supernatural’, ‘Right Now’ and instrumental versions of both songs. They are also preparing to release a new album in the second half of 2024, after which they plan to go on their first world tour in 2025.
Newsines, a South Korean girl group, was formed by ADOR. The group consists of five members- Minzy, Hanni, Danielle, Herin, and Hyein. The group debuted on July 22, 2022.
