Eating a burger is a moment of joy and enjoyment for many. However, a simple dining experience turned into a horrifying incident for a New York mother, Tiffany Floyd, and her four-year-old daughter Tay. As per a New York Post report, the mother ordered food for herself and her daughter from a Burger King outlet in Getzville, New York on July 26, 2024. After the child ate some fries and a portion of her hamburger, the mother discovered that her daughter’s food was stained with blood. Floyd described the entire incident in a clip posted on TikTok.
“I gave him the bag to eat and I heard ‘Mom I don’t want ketchup,’ so I took the bag back and thought they messed up our order and I saw there was blood on his bag, his hamburger, his toys, his fries, everything,” Floyd was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. “I immediately told him to spit out his food. He ate the fries and a little bit of the hamburger. And then I looked at my food, and there was blood on my food too.”
Floyd contacted the restaurant and was told that a team member had previously cut his hand at the restaurant.
“I called Burger King and the manager told me someone cut their hand and he would refund me if I came back. I contacted my local health department and they filed a report, but there wasn’t much more they could do,” the mom revealed.

Burger King’s corporate office has offered to pay for any medical expenses incurred by the family following the incident. They also temporarily closed the restaurant to retrain employees and follow deep cleaning procedures. Burger King released the following statement:
‘We were extremely upset and concerned. We have been in contact with the guest and are working with him to resolve the incident. The incident occurred in the restaurant where a team member injured his finger, and he left immediately when he noticed it. We closed the restaurant to retrain all team members and hired an outside company to perform a thorough cleaning,’ the company said. ‘We expect the restaurant to reopen on Monday and we are paying team members in full for the shifts they lost during this temporary closure.’
