This change only affects users who have an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, 1st-generation iPad Pro, and 5th-generation iPad, all of which are unable to update beyond iOS 16 or iPadOS 16. These users will no longer receive updates, new features, or bug fixes for the Netflix app, although the current version of the app will still work.

While the affected devices can continue to use the existing app, they will miss out on any improvements or bug fixes that come with future updates. Despite the app being shut down, users can still access Netflix via a web browser, ensuring they are not completely cut off from the service.

The move comes as part of Netflix’s broader efforts to focus on new software versions and improve the overall user experience. This upcoming change was discovered by a MacRumors contributor who found code strings in the latest version of the Netflix app.

Although Netflix has not yet confirmed the exact timing of the end of support, it is expected to happen soon. Users who want to continue receiving the latest Netflix updates will need to upgrade to a device that supports iOS 17 or iPadOS 17.

Apart from this, Reliance Jio has recently launched new prepaid plans that offer Netflix for free. The Rs 1299 Jio prepaid plan offers 2GB daily data, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day. The new recharge plan offers unlimited 5G data and 2GB daily 4G data. This pack comes with a validity period of 84 days.

The more expensive pack, Rs 1799, will also give you 3GB data per day and unlimited calling. It also includes 100SMS per day. It also gives unlimited 5G data and 3GB 4G data. This plan will be valid for 84 days. It is worth noting that both the plans offer users different (free) Netflix plans. The Rs 1299 Jio prepaid plan offers free access to Netflix mobile pack and the Rs 1799 plan includes the Netflix basic plan.
