On November 16, two days before the release of his Netflix film, Nayanthara wrote an objectionable letter after Dhanush sent a legal notice On the use of BTS clips in his documentary. Nayanthara and her team claimed that the BTS clips they used in the film were shot and edited by their crew members. Due to this, Dhanush filed a copyright infringement case against him and Netflix.

Defending her stance, Nayanthara explained that she wanted to use four specific lines written by Vignesh Shivan for the film. “The only thing we wanted in the movie was those four lines. They meant a lot to us, because they summed up our lives, our love, our children. It was very personal.
