Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui gave his opinion on the ongoing discussion about actors increasing their fees and the rise in the cost of the cast. He said that there is no harm in actors taking their fees after the completion of the film rather than at the beginning of the film.

“I don’t know about others, but my fees are very balanced. Others may have their fees hiked, but I don’t. (Others can hike their fees, not me). But a good film should be made at any cost, and for that if we take fees later rather than at the beginning of the film, there is no harm in it. The idea should be to make good films without any burden,” Nawazuddin told IndiaToday.in.

In a recent interview with IndiaToday.in, filmmaker Vinod Bhanushali revealed that Nawazuddin is willing to reduce his fees for his upcoming film.

Talking about this, the actor said, “Vinod is a very nice person; he doesn’t ask you to reduce your fees. He just says there is this much budget to make the film, let’s make the film in this budget, you can take some part of your fees now, and the rest you can take later, after the release. I must say this is a very smart and good thing. The admirable thing about Vinod is that he never asks you to reduce your fees.”

Talking about how things have changed in the industry, the Gangs of Wasseypur actor said, “We have seen a change in the industry because of small films. Those small films which get a name when they release internationally have brought a little bit of change. Those films are later promoted on OTT and then they do wonders. There is no masala in big films; the packaging is very good but there is nothing inside. Thank God that OTT platforms promote great actors, great content and films.”

Nawazuddin was last seen in Zee5 film ‘Rautu Ka Raaz’, which released on June 28.
