Naseeruddin Shah clarifies
Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah recently revealed that his post supporting Diljit Dosanj was taken down by Facebook amid controversies. Shah had earlier shared a strong statement, in which Punjabi actor-singer was carried forward to pursue his film’s release despite the backlash.

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah clarified that he did not remove his Facebook post supporting Diljit Dosanj, instead, it was removed by Facebook. On June 30, Shah posted a strong statement supporting a Punjabi singer-actor to release his film ‘Sardar Ji 3’, which includes Pakistani actor Hania Aamir. When the post disappeared the next day, many people believed that the actor had taken it down himself.
Now, in a recent article for The Indian ExpressNaseeruddin Shah clarified that he was not the one who had removed his Facebook post. “If it is seen as a justification for my Facebook post (which was not taken down by me) in support of Diljit Dosanjh, then be it. But the truth is that, I don’t need to justify anything. I said what I wanted, and I stood by it,” Shah wrote.
He also addressed the silence from the film industry, saying, “I am not disappointed with the lack of support, I was not expecting. Most of them are at a very high stake, or just don’t agree.”

Shah’s original post was a staunch defense of Dosanj, who is investigating for its role in ‘Sardar Ji 3’. Shah wrote, “I stand firmly with Diljit. He was not responsible for the casting of the film, the director (SIC) was,” Now in a post in a post.
The dispute around ‘Sardar Ji 3’, which shows Dosanj with Neeru Bajwa and Hania Aamir, reached new heights, as Shah’s comments were made to the headlines.
