Veteran actor Nana Patekar recently appeared on the popular television quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. During the episode, Patekar shared a heart-touching incident from the past related to Bachchan. He recalled the moment when Bachchan became a grandfather for the first time after the birth of Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s daughter Navya Naveli Nanda.

Nana Patekar, who was playing for the Naam Foundation, recalled the joyous occasion and how the news of Navya Naveli’s birth brought immense joy to Bachchan and his family. He shared, “We were shooting for the film Hungama (1999), and one day, Amit ji came and was distributing sweets to everyone.”

He added, “I asked him, ‘What’s the chance?’ And he said, ‘My daughter has just had a baby, Chief I have become a grandfather(I became a grandfather)” The always witty Nana, known for his wit, smiled and replied, ”How many years did it take? I am a grandfather by birth. (It took you so many years and I am a maternal grandfather by birth)”.

The episode was full of laughter and nostalgia as Patekar and Bachchan discussed various anecdotes from their illustrious career in the film industry. Sharing another such incident, Nana recalled, “One day, Amit ji came wearing a beautiful shirt. I complimented it and Amit ji told me that it belonged to Abhishek (Bachchan, son). Later That evening, Amit ji left. When I went to my vanity after the shooting, I saw that the same shirt was still hanging with me.
