Nana Patekar said on the death of his 2 year old son, ‘what will people say’
Nana Patekar opened up about losing his eldest son Durvasa, who was born with a problem in one eye. The ‘Welcome’ actor expressed his grief.

Actor Nana Patekar lost his elder son Durvasa when he was just two and a half years old. In a recent interview, he spoke about his son’s death and how devastated the loss made him. Nana said that Durvasa suffered from eye problems since birth, which made the situation even worse for him and the family.
The 73-year-old man spoke to India Today’s sister channel Lallantop In an interview about his loss. He said, “My eldest son was sick from birth. He had some health complications. He had a problem with one eye, he couldn’t see.” Nana said he was more worried about what ‘people would say’ about his son’s appearance, rather than how he would deal with it. “I felt so disgusted that when I saw him, I thought about what people would think, what kind of son Nana is. I didn’t think about what he felt or how he felt. I only thought about what people would think about my son,” he added.
A saddened Nana expressed his grief, saying, “His name was Durvasa. He spent two and a half years with us. But what can you do? Some things happen in life.”
He also spoke about several other things in the same interview, including the sexual harassment allegations levelled by actress Tanushree Dutta during the MeToo movement and his absence from ‘Welcome 3’, the third instalment of the franchise in which he starred opposite Anil Kapoor. The actor, who has received three National Awards in a career spanning 46 years, made a sarcastic remark when asked about his absence from ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. He said, “I am not a part of it, maybe they think We are very old (Maybe they think I am not relevant today).”
Nana spoke at length about not being offended by Tanushree’s allegations. He once again claimed that it was a ‘lie’ and he never took it seriously. No, I knew there was nothing like that (No, I always knew nothing like that existed)” he said, “I did not get angry (I never got angry) I don’t have any problem with it. nothing had happened (Nothing happened), I don’t know what it was about. If something happens we will let you know. all of a sudden Someone says you did this, what do we say, we did not do it? What else can we say (If something had really happened, I would have spoken up. What should I say if someone starts accusing me one day? I did not do anything. What else is there to say?)
Following Tanushree’s allegations in 2018, the Mumbai Police had given a clean chit to Nana Patekar in 2019, stating that there was not enough evidence to support her claims.
