Nana Patekar opens up about slapping a fan on the sets of Vanvas. In a recent interview, the veteran actor again discussed the controversy and admitted that slapping the man was ‘wrong’. However, he added that ‘it is important for people to know the place and time where they should express their love for someone’ and added that ‘it became a big controversy.’
For those who may not know, let us tell you that Nana Patekar was embroiled in controversy when he slapped a person who was trying to take a selfie with him. The incident happened when Nana was shooting for the film in Varanasi, when a man reached the sets and tried to click a picture with the actor.
Speaking to News18 about the incident, Nana Patekar recalled that a man had approached him, which led to an altercation. He admitted that he slapped the man, admitting that it was wrong.
Nana said the man did it out of affection and did not realize they were in the middle of a shooting. He entered the set during the shooting of the film and tried to take a selfie, due to which Nana slapped him. He stressed that although it was an exaggerated reaction, there is a right time to express love.
Nana said that if the man had waited until after he was shot, he would not have had any problem, but as soon as that happened, it turned into a big controversy.
This behavior upset Nana and he slapped her in response and the moment was captured on video. Nana later apologized to the fan after the video went viral.
When asked if it has become more challenging for filmmakers to film outdoors, director Anil Sharma, known for Gadar 2, admitted that it has become really tough, especially with the rise of social media.
He explained that it is difficult to avoid copying the shots, as viewers often share videos on platforms such as Twitter (now X) and Instagram. Sharma revealed that to resolve the issue, they will now have to form a separate digital team to remove these videos, making it an additional task.
Meanwhile, Vanvas is all set to release on December 20, 2024.
