Nagarjuna says he played matchmaker for Chaitanya-Shobhita: I invited them
Veteran Telugu actor Nagarjuna Akkineni opens up about playing the role of Cupid in son Chaitanya and Shobhita Dhulipala’s relationship. He praised the bride-to-be and expressed happiness over the marriage in the family.
Telugu actor Nagarjuna is excited about the marriage of his son Naga Chaitanya and Shobhita Dhulipala. In a recent interview, he talked about playing the role of Cupid for the couple and inviting his would-be daughter-in-law to his Hyderabad home.
spoke to nagarjuna times of India and revealed that he had been impressed by the actor’s performance in a film, and decided to meet him. The veteran actor shared that during the meeting Chai came in and the two met for the first time.
“The next time she was in Hyderabad I invited her to meet me. Later she came home to meet me and we had some wonderful conversations – not just about films but about life in general. Chaitanya came there during one of his visits, and that’s when they met for the first time, if I remember correctly,” he narrated the incident.
The 65-year-old praised Shobhita’s journey in the film industry. He called her a ‘brilliant actress’ and praised her for giving importance to her culture. Nagarjuna said, “She has worked incredibly hard to achieve her dreams, starting from Vizag and carving a niche for herself in the industry. She is a brilliant actress who has stayed true to her values and her art. What’s more, she’s very warm and down to earth.” ,
Shobhita and Naga Chaitanya are getting married in a traditional Telugu wedding ceremony at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad on December 4. It is planned as an intimate affair with only close friends and family members in attendance. Both Shobhita and Chai wanted to keep it as real and close to home as possible, and that’s why they removed all the frills from the wedding.
The bride and groom have reportedly ditched popular designers and stylists and sourced their wedding dresses locally for their big day. They are making sure to involve their family members in all the decisions, and are embarking on a beautiful marital journey by following all the Telugu traditions.
