Renowned Indian-American businessman Vinod Khosla and billionaire Elon Musk got into a public war of words over a land dispute in California and an allegedly altered image of a beach sign. It all started when Elon Musk posted an AI-generated image of a beach sign that read “No public allowed. Property of Vinod Khosla” – a reference to Mr Khosla’s 16-year-long legal battle to restrict public access to his private property at Martin’s Beach. Forbes Report.
Sharing the picture on X on Saturday, Mr Musk claimed that Mr Khosla had put it up on his property. However, the billionaire venture capitalist vehemently denied putting up any such sign and demanded an apology from Mr Musk as his “lies” had led to negative press for him. “You should apologise to me for spreading lies. I think this post of yours needs community comment as it is a fake image. I have never put up this sign or anything like it. I think it is created by AI but you can confirm that,” Mr Khosla wrote.
Mr Musk then responded to Mr Khosla in his own characteristic style. “Sorry, I made a sign about you restricting access to a public beach. That was horrible. Please forgive me,” the billionaire wrote.

Notably, ForbesMr. Khosla bought a piece of land in 2008 that previously served as a paid parking lot for Martins Beach, south of San Francisco. Mr. Khosla has said he no longer wants the privately owned property to be publicly accessible and has fought with the state over the issue for nearly two decades, including an appeal that was rejected in the Supreme Court in 2018.

However, Elon Musk used the issue to reignite a long-standing feud between the two, which has seen them spar over the 2024 election, the development of artificial intelligence and immigration issues.
Earlier, the two have also publicly debated about ChatGPT parent OpenAI. Mr Khosla has also called the conversation between Mr Musk and Donald Trump “stupid”. On the other hand, Mr Musk claimed that Mr Khosla was “mad about Trump”. The billionaires also debated on X over Mr Trump’s false claims about Haitian immigrants.
