Music legend Elton John has lost his eyesight, the artist confirmed in a recent media interaction. The singer said that he has lost his vision due to a severe eye infection.

Speaking during a concert performance in London, John thanked his partner David Furnish for being his “rock”. “I couldn’t come to many previews because, as you know, I’ve lost my eyesight. So it’s hard for me to see it. But I love hearing it and, boy, it felt good tonight,” John said.

During an interview with Good Morning America, John said that vision loss has affected his ability to function properly.

“Unfortunately I lost the vision in my right eye in July because I had an infection in the south of France, and it’s now been four months since I can’t see, and my left eye isn’t doing well either. So, there’s hope and encouragement that it’ll be OK, but… I’m stuck right now, because I can do something like this (interviews), but I can’t go into a studio and record. Know, because I can’t see any songs to begin with,” John said.

Elton John first revealed in September this year that he was suffering from eye problems.
