Actors Sharvari Wagh, Abhay Verma and Mona Singh’s ‘Munjya’ is now streaming on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, the film was a huge success when it released in theatres on June 7.

‘Munjya’ performed brilliantly at the box office. It made a lifetime collection of Rs 107 crore (net) in theatres. The film is now available for streaming on OTT for everyone.

About the OTT release of ‘Munjya’, Sharvari said, “I was filled with immense pride and joy to see the love the film has received from everyone. It was a moment of honour given Aditya Sarpotdar sir’s long-standing vision of finding his true audience and becoming a mediator where I got to play and experience the role of a modern woman and what it is like in today’s times. Director Aditya Sarpotdar said, “’Munjya’ is a story that was in its writing process for 2-3 years and the research part was something I always wanted to delve into minutely as the story is personal and I wanted to do complete justice to it because of the emotions attached to it. Bringing the story to life under Maddock has been very refreshing as they know what the horror comedy genre requires because of ‘Stree’ and ‘Bhediya’. I see ‘Munjya’ as a dark horse and when it did so well, it was a surprise for us and it always shows that no matter the form of the content, it will always find an audience and good content will eventually win. The amalgamation of new and experienced actors in the form of Mona, Sharvari, Sathyaraj and Abhay was very amazing as they bring a lot and represent our hard work. Set in Pune and Konkan, ‘Munjya’ is the story of Bittu (Abhay Verma), who is deeply in love with Bela (Sharvari). However, upon returning to his hometown, he uncovers a hidden past filled with ancestral history, demons and supernatural events that were unknown to him.

Meanwhile, ‘Munjya’ had its world TV premiere on Saturday, August 24 on Star Gold.
