Ranveer Singh has played various roles in his extensive acting career. From the role of a boy next door to a lover boy and a dynamic historical leader, he has done it all. The actor also made headlines for his N*D photoshoot done for a magazine. While some people believed this was very brave of him, there were also some who wondered ‘What is he doing?’ They included senior actor Mukesh Khanna, who said that even though the new father tried to convince him to play Shaktimaan, his previous shoot is a reason for his dislike towards casting Singh.
Speaking to Bollywood Thikana, Shaktiman fame Mukesh Khanna revealed that ‘poor guy’ Ranveer Singh sat in front of him for three hours to convince him to play the iconic character. But the senior star believes that what it takes to play the character of Shaktimaan is not visible on his face. The Heirs actor said, “He looks playful like he’s about to betray someone.” He said that the love story of Rocky and Rani is a brilliant actor.
Although the veteran actor feels that no one else in the film industry has the energy like Singh, he has not approved him for the role. “That (n*d) photoshoot was one of the huge reasons that started my dislike towards her. When I saw that photoshoot I said, ‘What are you doing man?'” Khanna said.
Apart from this, in the same chat, Mukesh Khanna claimed that he had praised Ranveer when he had come to convince him, after which people started alleging that he has been finalized for the role of Shaktimaan. Since he had not taken any decision on this due to contract, he posted a video where he clarified that he has not said anything about the lead actor. So, people will have to wait for some time for the official announcement.
While Ranveer is busy taking care of his wife Deepika Padukone and their newborn daughter, he is also preparing for his next project. The actor will next be seen in Rohit Shetty’s multi-starrer action film Singham Again, which will release in theaters this Diwali.
