‘Mufasa the Lion King’ will be released on December 20. Trailer released
‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ is all set to release in theatres on December 20, 2024. The makers announced the same and released the official trailer of the film during Disney’s D23 event.

Disney released the first trailer of the much-awaited film ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ during its D23 event on Friday, August 9. The makers also announced the release date of the film. Serving as a prequel to 2019’s ‘Lion King’, the film will take forward the story of the title character voiced by Aaron Pierre.
The epic story of Mufasa’s journey from orphan to the ultimate king will hit the big screen on December 20, 2024. “Long before they became legends, Mufasa and the prince known as Scar became brothers. #Mufasa: The Lion King, only in theaters December 20,” reads Disney’s Instagram post.

The trailer hints at a deeper exploration of Mufasa’s relationship with his brother Scar (formerly Taka). As an orphaned cub, Mufasa finds refuge in Taka’s pride, but initially faces rejection. However, the two eventually form a strong bond, strengthening their brotherhood.

Actor Aaron Pierre will be in the lead role as Mufasa. Apart from him, Kelvin Harrison will voice Taka/Scar, Tiffany Boone will voice Sarabi, Donald Glover will voice Simba and Thandiwe Newton will play Taka’s mother Eshe. ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ is directed by Barry Jenkins.
Apart from ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’, release dates of several other Disney films like ‘Lilo & Stitch’ and ‘Snow White’ were announced.
