Mufasa: The Lion King is seeing a good performance at the box office in India, which is benefiting from the lack of big releases this week. The film collected approximately Rs 13.70 crore on the second day.
Mufasa: The Lion King seems to be benefiting from the lack of big releases this week. The film, which tracks the origin story of Mufasa and serves as a prequel to the much-talked-about The Lion King, has earned Rs 22.50 crore in two days, as per early estimates.
According to website Sacknilk, Mufasa: The Lion King has collected Rs 13.70 crore on the second day. These figures are based on initial estimates. The English version contributed Rs 5.50 crore, while the Hindi version grossed Rs 4.50 crore. The Telugu and Tamil versions contributed Rs 2 crore and Rs 1.7 crore respectively. There was a jump of 55.68 percent in the film’s collection as compared to the opening day.
On its first day, It was estimated that Mufasa: The Lion King would collect Rs 10 crore.The final figure was Rs 8.80 crore, of which the English version earned Rs 3.50 crore and the Hindi version earned Rs 2.60 crore.

Shah Rukh Khan has lent his voice to the Hindi version of Mufasa: The Lion King, while Mahesh Babu has lent his voice for the Telugu adaptation. However, globally, the film is lagging at the box office mainly due to competition from Sonic the Hedgehog. Nevertheless, Mufasa is expected to gain momentum in the international market, as it has been released worldwide with a US debut, while Sonic the Hedgehog has yet to be released internationally, scheduled for a Christmas release .
