Barry Jenkins’ latest directorial debut, Mufasa: The Lion King, has been in theaters for six days. Serves as a prequel to the Disney animated film The Lion King (2019). The Hollywood film, featuring Aaron Pierre as the voice artist for Mufasa, performed poorly at the worldwide box office. However, thanks to superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu, Mufasa has received a positive response in the Indian markets.

Mufasa: The Lion King face to face with Pushpa 2 and Baby John; Eye on Rs 100 crore

Mufasa: The Lion King is maintaining a good hold at the Indian box office, giving competition to Pushpa 2 and Baby John. Despite its competition, the Indian release has seen impressive business in the Hindi and Telugu markets so far. Mufasa is now heading towards the Rs 100 crore club in our country. If the Hollywood film achieves this feat here, it would be a huge win for the Disney-backed musical drama, considering that post-pandemic prequels are not scoring as well as they used to.

While Shah Rukh Khan has dubbed Mufasa in the Hindi language, Mahesh Babu has lent his voice to the Telugu version. Both the superstars have voiced for the lead role. His presence in the dubbed versions has increased its performance in India to a great extent.
