Shawn Mendes returned to MTV’s Video Music Awards with a rocking performance! He performed the song “Nobody Knows” from his upcoming self-titled album Shawn and wowed his fans on stage.
The musician made sure to set the mood of the performance with cool golden lights shining on his face, which also complements the atmosphere of his new song. In addition, smoke was also added during his appearance on stage, which helped enhance the aesthetic of his overall performance.
As always, Mendes’ personality certainly captured the attention of the audience, who swayed along with him during his rendition, showcasing his beautiful vocal talent and natural charm.
The singer’s upcoming album is speculated to be about his relationship with Camila Cabello. At one point, the track’s lyrics say, “When you’re so in love and souls are touched but it’s still not enough, where does it go? Nobody knows.”
Additionally, he mesmerized the audience by playing the guitar while singing and then ended his performance with a bang! The three musicians on stage created a great moment with the guitar, drum set and electric guitar.
Mendes previously spoke about his upcoming work on his Instagram, revealing how emotionally charged the album’s creation process was. The record is set to be released on October 18, 2024.
Apart from the ‘There’s Nothing Holding Me Back’ singer’s performance, several other artistes including Lenny Kravitz, Katy Perry, Halsey, LL Cool J, Chapel Roan, Camila Cabello, among others also performed during the ceremony.
This year’s VMAs were held at the UBS Arena and Megan Thee Stallion hosted the show. Several emerging artists including Tyla and Roan were also honored for their artistry as they won the Moon Trophy for Best Afrobeats and Best New Artist respectively.
