In the past one year, several foldable phones have been launched in India, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, OnePlus Open, Oppo Find N2 Flip and the recently launched Vivo X Fold 3 Pro. Tech enthusiasts have embraced the concept of foldable devices with great enthusiasm and now Motorola is also going to join this list. The company has released a teaser on its official X handle, giving us a glimpse of its new foldable device.

The teaser, though only 10 seconds long, shows glimpses of two foldable phones, which are expected to come in different colours. Notably, one phone has a bigger camera bump, and subtle variation in the material around the Motorola logo is evident. The final shot of the video shows multiple stacked phones, suggesting multiple colour options. We also see the announcement date – June 25. The phones will come to China first. Details about the India launch are still scarce. The caption of the video is, “Psst! Some movie-worthy news coming.”

Motorola hasn’t officially confirmed the names of the devices launching on June 25, but reports suggest these could be the latest versions of the company’s Razr flip phone. The new Razr models, called the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra, are expected to have advanced AI features and larger cover screens.

Reports also say that there could be three colours for the Razr+ and four colours for the Razr.

Leaked details and rumors have pointed to significant upgrades in the 2024 model. Both the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra are expected to have 120Hz-refresh-rate pOLED screens, with the Ultra model having a slightly larger 4-inch cover screen and a 165Hz refresh rate.

Upgrades are also expected in the camera department. Both phones are expected to include a 50-megapixel main camera. The Razr 50 will have a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens, while the Ultra will have a 2x telephoto camera.

Under the hood, the Razr 50 could run on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300x 5G processor, while the Ultra will likely be powered by the third-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8S processor. These improvements, along with potential increases in RAM and storage, position these devices as strong contenders in the foldable phone market. Despite these upgrades, pricing is expected to remain in line with previous models. The Razr 50 is expected to be priced around $700, while the Razr 50 Ultra will likely be available for $1,000.

Following the launch in China, these phones are expected to be made available in other countries at a global event, possibly ahead of Samsung’s anticipated Galaxy Z Flip unveiling on July 10.
