If you’ve ever wanted a device similar to the AirTag but compatible with your Android phone, the MotoTag could be the perfect solution. Motorola has unveiled its answer to the Apple AirTag with the new MotoTag, a dedicated item tracker designed specifically for Android users. This sleek device is compatible with most Android smartphones and integrates easily with Motorola’s device ecosystem.

Moto Tag uses Google’s Find My Device network and Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology to provide accurate tracking capabilities. Users can locate their tagged items from almost anywhere in the world using the Find My Device app. For those with UWB-supported Android phones like the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, Moto Tag provides even more accurate location tracking.

A notable feature of the Moto Tag is its multifunctional button. With a simple press, it can ring the user’s smartphone to help find a lost device. Additionally, it can serve as a remote control for taking photos, especially when paired with Motorola’s Razr series in Flex View mode.

Motorola emphasizes privacy with the Moto Tag, using Google’s secure Find My Device network. User location data is encrypted, ensuring that only the tag owner or authorized persons can view the tag’s location. The device also supports automatic unknown tracker alerts on both Android and iOS, providing protection against unwanted tracking. Users can run a manual scan to check for any unwanted tags following them.

Setting up the Moto Tag is very easy. Once turned on and near the user’s smartphone, it connects quickly via Google Fast Pair. The Moto Tag app allows users to customize settings such as the tag name, alert volume, and battery life check.

The Moto Tag has an attractive design that fits most third-party accessories, making it easy to attach to a variety of items. It has an IP67 rating, which ensures protection against dust, dirt, and water immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. The device’s CR2032 battery lasts up to a year on a single charge and can be easily replaced.

Availability

The Moto Tag will be available in select markets in the coming months. Motorola has not yet revealed if the new device will be launched in India. This new addition to Motorola’s lineup promises to bring convenience and peace of mind to users by keeping their valuables easily trackable and secure.
