Motorola Razr Plus 2024 details leaked ahead of launch next week: Everything we know so far
The Motorola Razr Plus 2024 is expected to feature several changes over the previous generation. In a recent official video leak, some new upcoming features of the foldable can be seen.
With the foldable phone market growing rapidly, Motorola is expected to launch another flagship phone – the Razr Plus. The launch is still a week away, but a new leak has revealed the upcoming features of the smartphone. According to the leak, the Motorola Razr Plus 2024 may feature a telephoto lens, improved water resistance and AI power.
A tipster named @MysteryLupin has shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) that looks like a teaser for the upcoming model. The video starts by showing the cover display with thinner bezels than the previous model. With such minor changes, the display doesn’t look much different from its predecessors.
After the display, the video reveals that the upcoming device will come with improved water resistance, claiming “underwater protection”. The disclaimer at the bottom of the video mentions IPX8 resistance, which is a mixed bag in terms of improvements.
Compared to the previous model, these had IP52 dust and water resistance, which meant splashes weren’t an issue, but full submersion in water could be a problem.
Along with water resistance, dust protection is also a feature of the phone, as dust resistance is not common in many foldable smartphones currently available in the market. For example, Samsung only offers water resistance.
For camera enthusiasts, the video reveals that one of the cameras will offer telephoto zoom. The previous Razr Plus model released in 2023 had a standard camera as well as an ultrawide, as most dual-camera devices opt for nowadays.
Telephoto cameras are pretty rare on foldable flip phones, so this one on the new Motorola Razr Plus is a welcome addition, but it’s unclear if it comes at the expense of an ultrawide shooter.
And to keep up with the world of AI, the smartphone will also have some AI power. In the video, the camera is apparently “AI-powered” and the device includes “Moto AI”.
Previous leaks of Motorola’s upcoming Razr Plus didn’t show any major changes to the foldable flip phone. While the cheaper model appeared to get a full-size cover display, the flagship model only appeared to get a spec bump. But a leaked official-looking video reveals some interesting things.
Previous leaks have suggested that the new Razr Plus will feature a slightly larger 4000mAh battery, while the previous generation had a 3800mAh battery. It may also feature the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3.
However, all these details are based on leaks and rumours, and we advise you to take them at face value.
