Madhavan Nair, popularly known as Madhu, turns a year older today, September 23. On the occasion of his 91st birthday, the Malayalam film fraternity has extended warm wishes to the veteran star. Apart from many, actors Mohanlal and Mammootty also took to their social media handles to honour Madhu on his birthday.
Mohanlal shared a cute picture with Madhu on his Facebook page and penned a heartfelt note. He wrote, “A thousand happy birthday wishes to dear Madhusar.” The Drishyam actor also shared a glimpse of veteran actor Madhu’s website which shows all the best moments of his life.
On the other hand, Mammootty shared a solo photo of the veteran star and wrote, “Happy Birthday my Superstar.”

Kerala’s cultural minister Saji Cherian also wished veteran actor Madhu on his 91st birthday. He wrote on his Facebook handle, “A man who created a distinct identity for himself with his effortless acting style and mesmerized audiences with his restless youth and romantic lover. Happy birthday to Madhu sir, the acting marvel who expressed Kerala’s love for Madhu…and the country’s respect with two letters.”

Madhavan Nair aka Madhu was a popular Indian actor, producer and director who worked in Malayalam cinema. He is one of the most respected actors in showbiz and was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2013. He was given this honor for his contribution to Indian cinema for more than six decades.
“I wanted to break my image,” Madhu told those who questioned his decision to venture into filmmaking despite being a popular actor.
Moreover, the success of his first two films as a director, Sindooracheppu and Priya, gave him the necessary confidence to venture into filmmaking as well.
