ZEE5’s original series, Mithya, is back with the second season, titled Mithya: The Darker Chapter. The trailer for the show was released on Monday, October 21 and as mentioned in the title, it appeared darker and mysterious than before. This series starring Huma Qureshi and Avantika Dassani in the lead roles has a new addition this time. TVF Pitchers fame Naveen Kasturia joins the cast in the new season of the show.

As shown in the trailer, the story takes the audience back to the psychological drama between step-sisters, Juhi (Huma) and Rhea (Avantika). Juhi, a famous writer, tries to enjoy the success of her new book, but is immediately shocked by another author’s accusations of plagiarism. Naveen enters the scene as writer Amit Chaudhary.
While Juhi’s parallel story is playing out on one side, Rhea keeps plotting to get closer to her father and yearns for his acceptance in the family.

Directed by Kapil Sharma, who also directed the first season, Mithya: The Darker Chapter, it seems to be based on the ‘blood versus blood’ conundrum that has been explored in many series and films including the globally iconic Game of Thrones .

The trailer further hints that in this battle between the two sisters to find love, respect and acceptance, other members of the family are being sacrificed. Watch the trailer here:

Mithya Season 2 looks like a complete package of drama, emotions, mystery, thriller and a whole web of lies with family ties. It is produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Rose Audio Video Visual Production.
This series will start as a Diwali special on ZEE5 from 1st November.
