Actress Madalsa Sharma is very happy and excited with her father-in-law Mithun Chakraborty winning the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. The announcement was made on Monday morning, September 30 and in an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Madalsa talked about the greatness of Mithun da as an actor and a human being.

The actor, who was last seen in the TV show Anupamaa, mentioned that the news did not come as a shock to the family, as everyone believes that he deserves the best of the world. “Of course, everyone is happy. Ultimately it’s a big achievement. And dad has always been respected for his hard work and everything he’s given to the industry over so many years. It doesn’t come across as a big achievement ” This is a shock for us. This is very natural and appropriate.”

When asked if there are plans to celebrate the news later, Madalsa revealed that the family is not together right now, but they are all hoping to reunite and celebrate in a few days. He said, “My mother-in-law and brother-in-law are in Los Angeles. I am in Mumbai with Mimoh. We are all very proud of her. We are just waiting for everyone to be together.”

The actor also commented on the kind of celebration that usually happens in the family. He revealed that the family believes in spending quality time together and that is what they are going to do in a few days. “Dad usually always cooks. He loves cooking and whenever we are together in Mumbai, he always cooks something for us for dinner. I’m sure when he comes back , he will definitely cook something. Even I will try to make one.” As for my specialties, we’ll make a whole day of it. Just being together will be a blessing and a celebration,” she explained.

Madalsa said that as soon as he got the news, he called him first thing in the morning. The actor said that his father-in-law was in a very good mood and was grateful for the honour. He also told what this award means to him.

Madalsa underlined the struggles faced in Mithun da’s life. She highlighted that her father-in-law is a “self-made man” and hence, every honor means a lot to him.

She elaborated, “He is very cool. He has achieved a lot in his life. But, every recognition matters. Every recognition is valued. Ultimately it is a journey. Dad is a legend. I am his Don’t want to say much about it.” Life and struggle. But, all I can say is that he is a self-made person, when you are self-made in life, every achievement, every recognition, every milestone may not show it otherwise, but internally, It’s always a big deal. You think of it as a blessing. I’m sure whenever dad achieves a big milestone like this, he also feels blessed.”

Madalsa said that Mithun’s journey has been “incredible” and that being able to live a life like his is a great achievement. She concluded, “When I see him talk about his experiences and hear what his journey has been like, it’s completely unbelievable. It’s unimaginable to think about how much dad went through to become who he is today.” It’s unimaginable to even think about what we’ve achieved.”

Mithun, who recently turned 74, is the recipient of three National Film Awards and countless Bollywood film awards. He was also awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour, by the Government of India.
