Missing ladies shortlisted for Best International Film by Japan Academy
Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan-made missing women have been shortlisted for the Japan Academy Film Award. It is competing with other acclaimed films such as Open Aimmer, the field of interest and bad things.
Kiran Rao-directed and false ladies have been winning heart since their release. And now, the film has been shortlisted for the Japan Academy Film Award 2024.
The missing Ladies have been running in theaters in the country for 115 days. The winner of the best international film will be announced on 14 March during the award ceremony.
Apart from missing women, those who are competing in other films include Christopher Nolan’s Open Lymemer, Yorgos Lantimos’ bad things, Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest and Alex Garlands Civil War.
Presented by Jio Studios, Laapataa women are starred by Kiran Rao and a script of Biplab Goswami with Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande.
Kiran, who started his career as Assistant Director (Advertisement) for Aamir Khan’s film Lagaan (2001), wrote and directed his first film in 2011, Dhobi Ghat. The missing ladies were his second film as a director.
The film played other roles with others among others among others among Nitanshi Goyal, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Srivastava, and Chhaya Kadam.
