Kiran Rao, Aamir Khan and the entire team of Missing Ladies were eagerly waiting, hoping that the comedy-drama film would be selected as India’s nomination for Oscars 2025. Well, this morning, the team got to know about this big news and since then, they have been trying to process it. Soon after, director Kiran took to his social media and thanked the cast and team for making it possible. After learning that Missing Ladies is India’s official entry in the Best International Feature Film category at the Oscars 2025, Kiran Rao wrote a long note expressing her gratitude to everyone who was a part of the film. Soon after, Nitanshi Goyal, who played Phool Kumari in the film, wrote in the comments section, “Kiran ma’am aapne toh bahut sapne poori kar diye. I am still trying to understand if this is true.”

Soon after, several Bollywood celebs took to the comments section to congratulate the team on taking the first step towards bringing home the Oscar award. Newlywed actress Aditi Rao Hydari dropped several red heart emojis, while Munjya star Sharvari wrote, “Many many many congratulations ma’am and a tight hug.” Actor-writer Piyush Mishra congratulated the team, while Karisma Kapoor congratulated them. Karan Johar, Prateik Babbar, Mona Singh, Bhumi Pednekar, Radhika Apte, Dia Mirza and others also showered them with love.
Actress Pratibha Ranta, who played Jaya Tripathi in the film, got emotional after reading Kiran’s heartwarming note, while Rao’s son-in-law Nupur Shikhare left several hearts in the comments. Aamir Khan’s production house also commented, “A journey from sunflower to Oscars.”

Sharing a picture of herself with Kiran Rao and a picture of herself with several clapboards hanging on the wall, she wrote, “Phool English mein?
