‘Mirzapur 3’ trailer review: Pankaj Tripathi eats it all in 10 seconds and leaves no crumbs
The trailer of ‘Mirzapur 3’ is here and trust us, Pankaj Tripathi will bring his own desi ‘Game of Thrones’!

The trailer of Prime Video’s new series Mirzapur season 3 dropped on Thursday. The show has a stellar starcast, but Pankaj Tripathi grabs the audience with his presence in the two minute 37 second video. The makers attracted the audience by giving 10 seconds of screen-time to the actor, and that was enough for Tripathi to do exactly what the makers wanted: create a solid buzz.
The video starts in its typical style – a few abuses here and there and then action. Guddu Bhaiya, played by Ali Fazal, is on a mission. He will take over Mirzapur as the most powerful gangster and eventually become the ruler of ‘.Purvanchal‘But, this is not an easy task.
The trailer hints at Guddu Bhaiya’s journey of becoming a mad king who meets his end as soon as he tastes power. Tripathi’s Kaleen Bhaiya is the exact opposite. His horror is not in what he does when he is in power, but in how he thinks when he is not. He may be a defeated king right now, and also wounded after losing his entire family in one go. But, will Mirzapur ever be able to forget him and accept Guddu? For Kaleen Bhaiya, ‘throne And Tradition‘ are paramount, and he will now do what has never happened in the history of Purvanchal to save his father’s legacy. Mirzapur Season 3 might seem to be about the rise and rise of Guddu Bhaiya, but it is definitely not about the fall of Kaleen Bhaiya. At least that’s what the last 10 seconds of the trailer suggest.
Watch the trailer of Mirzapur Season 3 here:
The video doesn’t reveal the plot but keeps you hooked with the introduction of almost all the characters of the season. Except Divyenndu as Munna Bhaiya (only if you want to believe that he is actually coming back). Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Vijay Verma, Rasika Dugal, Isha Talwar, Priyanshi Painyuli, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Anjum Sharma, Meghna Malik, Manu Rishi Chaddha and Sheeba Chaddha have given a wonderful performance.
However, Rajesh Tailang as Guddu’s father Ramakant Pandit forces you to replay the trailer. One scene that shines beautifully is where Ramakant stands in a court and seriously tells the judge the one thing that bothers him the most: being Guddu Pandit’s father. “Our only complaint is that we are Guddu Pandit’s father…(My sorrow is that I am Guddu Pandit’s father,” he says, as the scene slowly moves forward and Rasika Duggal’s Beena Tripathi appears, which is arguably one of her finest characters on screen. As she tells Guddu, “No one can challenge Guddu Pandit, this message should resonate in pure Purvanchal (No one can challenge Guddu Pandit; this message must resonate across Purvanchal)” In your mind, you cheer for the woman who has finally regained her independence. But the million-dollar question remains: what will happen when Kalina bhaiya returns?
Mirzapur Season 3 will premiere on Prime Video from July 17. The show is directed by Gurmeet Singh and Anand Iyer and is expected to take you through another big thriller. This time there is a lot in it which is difficult to understand, isn’t it?
