The first trailer of the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic achieved a major feat, becoming the most viewed music biopic trailer in history after its global online debut.
The King of Pop’s legacy is back in the spotlight and the world doesn’t seem to be far from it. The trailer of the much-awaited Michael Jackson biopic ‘Michael’ has taken the internet by storm by garnering an astonishing 116.2 million views within 24 hours of its release. This achievement marks the biggest trailer debut ever for Lionsgate and sets a new record for a music biopic.
The film, titled ‘Michael’, promises to go beyond the stage lights and explore the man behind the music. The trailer features the late singer’s real-life nephew Jafar Jackson, stepping into his uncle’s shoes with pinpoint accuracy – from the signature moonwalk to the unmistakable charisma of the ‘Thriller’ era.
The cast includes Miles Teller as lawyer John Branca, Colman Domingo as patriarch Joe Jackson, Kat Graham as Diana Ross and Nia Long as Katherine Jackson. The cast also includes Laura Harrier, Kendrick Sampson and Juliano Cru Valdi, who plays a young Michael.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, the film is produced by Graham King, John Branca and John McClane. ‘Michael’ is scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on April 24, 2026.
