As the temperatures drop and the air turns chilly, Mez Mambo has embraced the season with its ‘Sweater Weather’ menu – a delight of winter-inspired dishes designed to warm both soul and stomach. Is a collection. But the experience isn’t just about the food; It is a complete sensory festival. Upon entering Meze Mambo, you are immediately struck by its vibrant, lively atmosphere. The two-storey restaurant, with its sleek modern design and eye-catching silver globe centrepiece, creates a chic yet energetic ambiance. A live DJ plays psychedelic music that adds an electric, almost party-like atmosphere to the place – so much so that you may find yourself swaying to the beat in between your meal.
On a recent cool evening, I had the pleasure of diving into this new winter offering, and I can say with confidence that it was the perfect medicine for the cold. The menu, filled with hearty, warming dishes, blends wonderfully with the vibrant energy of the venue, making it the ideal venue for both a casual dinner and an unforgettable night.
The meal began with two expertly crafted cocktails: the Mambo Picante, a spicy, smooth mix made with Patrón tequila, and the Something Fruity, a refreshing blend of Hendricks gin and fruit notes. Both drinks were a lovely introduction to the evening – refreshing but with enough heat to complement the weather.

For appetizers, the White Wine Garlic Shrimp stole the show. The plump prawns bathed in a white wine and garlic sauce, accompanied by juicy cherry tomatoes, were so delicious I almost thought of ordering another round. Another standout starter was the Spicy Lamb Hummus – a perfect balance of creamy hummus and spicy lamb, served with soft, fluffy pita bread. While the pepperoni hummus was also good, the lamb version had a special kick that made it a memorable choice.
For meat lovers, Mezze Mambo offers a casual lineup of hearty dishes. Pork Koobideh and Pork Belly Shashlik are smoky, tender meals that will satisfy any carnivore’s cravings. Moroccan lamb kebabs offered an appealing balance of spices, and lamb broth, a traditional Moroccan soup, was warming, hearty and soul-soothing in the winter.
The real highlight, however, was the Mambo Pork Chili. This dish is delicious, perfectly spiced with just the right amount of heat to ward off any winter chill. The flavors were beautifully balanced, and each bite seemed to melt away the cold.

Another dish that stood out was the Khyber Kebab, a chicken kebab filled with gooey cheese. It was as delightful as it sounds – crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, the cheese added an unexpected richness that matched beautifully with the spicy chicken. Chicken Musakhan, Palestine’s national dish, was equally impressive. Roasted chicken, served on top of soft bread and seasoned with an array of spices, was just the dish one needed on a cold day.
For dessert, Mezze Mambo does not disappoint. The Strawberries and Cream Sundae is a timeless classic, featuring sweet, juicy strawberries balanced by velvety cream. But it was the Hot Chocolate Cheesecake that really took the spotlight. The combination of rich chocolate and creamy cheesecake created a decadent end to an utterly delicious meal. Another dessert I loved was the Palestine Pound Cake – sticky, soft and extremely delicious.
From spicy starters to hearty main courses and delicious desserts, the menu offers something for every taste. Whether you want to beat the winter chill or simply enjoy a cozy meal, or simply spend the night with friends, this menu paired with the lively ambiance of the restaurant will definitely make your evening a little warmer and a lot more fun. Will make you feel something. Delicious.
