Mehreen Pirzada denies secret marriage rumours, says she kept quiet for 2 years
Mehreen Pirzada has denied reports alleging her secret marriage, criticized the spread of misinformation online, and called for greater accountability from digital platforms.
Actress Mehreen Pirzada has issued a strong statement to refute persistent rumors that she secretly married Chiranjeev Makwana in 2024, following recent reports and edits made to her Wikipedia page. On Tuesday, December 16, Pirzada responded with a post on social media, calling the claims false and expressing disappointment at their continued spread over the past two years. They highlighted the negative impact of misinformation on their personal and professional lives, directly addressing unverified reports and those responsible for spreading them.
Pirzada criticized the lack of accountability for online misinformation. “Nowadays, it’s strange how misinformation can spread without any consequences. And journalism has certainly suffered when it comes to stupid paid articles,” he added, adding, “I remained silent about this for 2 years, but due to constant harassment, I chose to speak out today.” In her post, Pirzada stressed the need to address the spread of unverified claims and the repeated harassment she faces.
Addressing the specific marriage rumour, Pirzada dismissed claims that she had ever interacted with Chiranjeev Makwana. She said, “Clearly a low life person who has hacked my Wikipedia and tried to get his 2 minutes of fame. So here I am setting the record straight. I am not married to anyone. But trust me when I decide, I promise you the whole world will know!” Pirzada also called out a journalist involved in reporting the claim and urged him to “keep your girlfriends together.”
Pirzada further expressed his concern About inaccuracies on publicly editable profiles like Wikipedia. “@Wikipedia needs to stop letting random people edit my page. I am the most accurate source of information about my life,” he wrote. The actor’s statements reflect a growing issue facing public figures regarding the reliability of information available online and the challenges in correcting public records.
Rumors of Peerzada’s marriage surfaced when his Wikipedia page was updated to show that he got engaged to Makwana in 2023 and married her in 2024 in Hyderabad. Although Peerzada was previously engaged to Bhavya Bishnoi in 2021, the engagement ended within four months. According to Pirzada, the current claims are completely baseless and have prompted him to address them directly after years of silence.
