However, a palace source says it is “completely false” that Charles has control over Harry’s security. Those close to Harry say the King no longer answers their calls or letters. They are told he is not available right now. Their calls go unanswered, even when they ask about the King’s health.
The issue of Harry’s security is complicated. While the king has no government power in the U.K., and police protection is managed by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC), Harry believes King Charles could intervene to get him protection. Harry’s proposal to pay for his own security was also rejected in court.
