Megastar Chiranjeevi is gearing up for the release of his next film, Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu, which is scheduled to hit the big screens on January 12, 2026, on the occasion of Sankranti. Now, it appears that the actor’s next project is also all set to go on floors soon.
Shooting of Chiranjeevi and Bobby Kolli’s Mega 158 will start from February 2026?
According to a report in Telugu Chitralu, Chiranjeevi’s tentatively titled Mega158 will be officially launched in February 2026. After the launch ceremony, regular shooting is expected to begin in March 2026.
Reportedly, the makers had initially planned to hold the launch ceremony on January 18, 2026. However, the event was postponed due to Chiranjeevi’s knee surgery and recovery period.
Additionally, reports suggest that AR Rahman may compose the music for the Chiranjeevi-starrer after completing work on Ram Charan’s Peddi. However, these claims are still speculations, awaiting official confirmation from the manufacturers.
Earlier, it was also discussed that Mohanlal will be a part of the upcoming action film, with Chiranjeevi playing an important role. Although not many details have been revealed about the film, this will be the first on-screen collaboration between Chiranjeevi and Mohanlal.
Tentatively titled Mega158, the film marks director Bobby Collie’s second collaboration with Chiranjeevi after the 2023 film Valtair Veerayya. The project is said to be a gangster action film with a deep emotional backdrop.
Chiranjeevi’s work front
Chiranjeevi will soon hit the theaters with his next release Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film is touted to be an action-comedy entertainer starring Nayanthara in the lead role and an extended cameo by Venkatesh Daggubati.
The trailer of the film recently revealed that Chiranjeevi is playing the role of a national security officer who has been living separated from his wife and daughter for almost six years.
Longing for reunion, he gets a second chance when he is tasked with saving his estranged family from a vengeful ex-policeman. In the process of keeping them safe, Prasad also attempts to win back his love and family.
Additionally, the actor has completed work on his fantasy action film Vishwambhara, which is expected to release on the big screens in 2026. However, the official release date has not been announced yet.
Looking ahead, the megastar also has a project with The Paradise director Srikanth Odela.
