Once an engineer was replaced by an actor-producer, he is not Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh or Vicky Kaushal.
The actors who play the most prestigious role in the epic two-part film franchise are none other than Ravi Dubey. He will be seen playing the role of Laxman in director Nitesh Tiwari’s two-part film series ‘Ramayana: Part 1 and 2’. Once known to work on Hindi television shows, Ravi’s next film has more than the budget ‘Brahmastra: Part One-Shiv’ (2022), which is reported to be Rs 410 crore.
Ravi Dubey’s career and background
The actor studied Electronics and Telecom Engineering at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai, popular for his Hindi show ‘Jamai Raja’ (2014-2017). His father, Gyan Prakash Dubey worked as a civil engineer, Ravi opted for stream as a backup plan. He started his journey with modeling before starting his television with ‘Stri … Teri Kahani’ (2006–2007).
The actor later married his ’12/24 Karol Bagh ‘(2009-2010), co-star Sargun Mehta on 7 December 2013. The pair is also a film and television production company, Drimiyata Entertainment. He has supported Hindi TV shows such as ‘Udiyayan’, ‘Jununiyat’, ‘Dalachini’ and ‘Badal Pe Pon Hai’. Ravi also joined the web show ‘Jamai 2.0’ (2019-2021) with his ‘Jamai Raja’ co-star Nia Sharma.

‘Ramayana-Budget and Hollywood cooperation

NAMIT is also the CEO of its British-Indian assistant DNEG, who specializes in visual effects. Dneg, who won the Oscar for the best visual effects eight times, is also making VFX for ‘Ramayana: Part 1’.
The film’s action sequence is designed by ‘Mad Max’ stunt director Gai Noris. Recently, actor Yash was shot with Noris for an intensive scene.

About Ramayana
‘Ramayana’ is based on the epic text of the sage Valmiki of the same name. The film also stars Siel Pallavi, Yash and Sunny Deol Devi Sita, demon king Ravan and Lord Hanuman respectively. Vivek Oberoi, Rakul Preet Singh, Lara Dutta, Kajal Aggarwal, Ravi Dubey, Kunal Kapoor, Arun Govil, Sheeba Chadha and Indira Krishnan also play lead roles.
The first glimpse of the film will be released on 3 July. The first installment titled ‘Ramayana: Part 1’, Diwali is scheduled to release at 2026.
