When she entered the industry in 2000 with Hrithik Roshan in the film Kaho Naa… Pyar Hai, the actress was impressive, feisty, promising and a dream to watch. Every actor aspired to be launched like her, but did it really help Patel?
The next year, Ameesha starred opposite Sunny Deol in the famous blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and everyone thought that this girl would be the next big thing in Bollywood – a peak that hardly anyone could touch. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned and Ameesha eventually ended up making guest appearances in a few films.
Why did Ameesha Patel not succeed in Bollywood?
Well, recently the diva herself answered the same and blamed her then manager who became a hindrance in her journey. Ameesha recently spoke to Siddharth Kannan where she revealed that she had to walk out of a Sanjay Leela Bhansali project because her manager became a hindrance in her way.
He had said, “When I decided to part ways with the manager amicably, Bhansali sir told me that there were moments when we should have worked together, but he did not want to work with my manager.” Not just Bhansali, but many big production houses including Nadiadwala Grandson and YRF avoided approaching him because of that one manager.
Ameesha did some small and supporting roles in films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Race 2 until she got a chance to make a comeback in the sequel of her 2001 hit Gadar. Gadar 2, released in 2023, turned out to be a massive hit just like the first part and brought the lost star back into the limelight.
Now that Ameesha Patel is back, her fans only want her to stay in the headlines and keep entertaining with her wit and charm.
