Born in the city of dreams, Suchitra Krishnamurthy is a true Mumbaikar. A popular name in Tollywood and Bollywood, she started her acting journey with the TV series Chunauti when she was a schoolgirl. After becoming the face of famous brands, she finally made her Hindi debut with Kundan Shah’s upcoming romantic comedy Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na. The film was a hit and her character Anna Gonsalves succeeded in making a place in the hearts of cinema lovers.
Amidst enjoying love and fame, she married film producer and actor Shekhar Kapur in 1999. But sadly, the couple separated in 2007. However, they have a daughter named Kaveri Kapoor. While pursuing his music career, Krishnamurthy also acted in films like Jazbaat and Vaade Iraade. He is also credited with releasing the pop albums Dole Dole, Dum Tara, Aha and Zindagi.
Then in 2005, almost a decade later, she returned to the screen with Anil Kapoor in My Wife’s Murder, followed by Aag, Raan, Romeo Akbar Walter (John Abraham, Mouni Roy, Jackie Shroff and Sikandar Kher), the web series Guilty Minds, starred in. She is an equally talented writer who loves to put pen to paper and has also written several blogs and novels. Suchitra Krishnamurthy also wrote a memoir which she called ‘Drama Queen’. Such was his popularity that the first print of the book was sold out within a week of its unveiling. He also wrote a musical on it, which surprisingly was staged all over the country.
