Chandni grew up in a one-room kitchen with her family for 18 years. She said, “I don’t consider these as challenges. That’s not my way of looking at things. It was all part of my journey. Everything taught me something. I’m grateful for that. I got to learn and see a lot of things, which made me more empathetic and compassionate towards people. I’m just grateful for that.”

When asked about their selection process you are mine i am yoursChandni said, “I had to give two auditions, then I was rejected. I was like, ‘Oh my God, what happened?’ I didn’t understand this. He said no, we are going with someone else. I said ok. I got a call again that they were considering you again. I couldn’t understand what was happening. I told myself that I will believe that it is happening only when it is my first day on the set.”
Chandni further added, “I think when I reached Nawalgarh and shot for a while, I was convinced that it was happening. After two look tests, I signed the deal. I was just shocked and in disbelief. I was crying, my mother was crying, my manager was crying, so I said, ‘Yes, it’s happening’.”

Life Lessons by Jackie Shroff
Chandni also talked about her relationship with Jackie Shroff, saying, “He bedu-Zones you. you become his bedu. He is very calm. No one felt tired on the set as the energy was very light. And it was because of Jackie sir.” When asked about life lessons, she said, “I think life has to be lived to the fullest. There is nothing more than this. And the way he loves nature is incredible. He used to tell us about different trees; He knows a lot of things.”
Sisterly relationship with Ananya Pandey!
His relationship with Ananya developed naturally. Chandni said, “It was always there. It came from within. I also came for her in the same way. There was the hospital scene and she was crying. So I reached out to her. Even in small things, it came from within. I feel like she is my sister, and I am very protective of her and of her. And it is naturally.”
Lens can change the audience’s perspective
Addressing the film’s story, Chandni explained how camera work can change perceptions. “If you start looking at things from an empathetic perspective, you understand things on a different level. I think privilege shaming is very common,” she said. Whatever we don’t understand, whatever we haven’t experienced personally, we jump in and judge and draw conclusions. (Things we don’t understand, things we haven’t experienced personally, we judge and jump to conclusions too quickly). With social media, it’s very possible.”
“You will see that sympathy among people decreases. The more you empathize, the more you will understand (You will notice that empathy has decreased between people. The more empathy you have, the more you will understand). I’m privilege-shaming someone. “If you look at it from a different perspective, you’ll see it from a different perspective,” Chandni said.
He elaborated, “For example, If I use a tight camera lens, I can show you a child eating a burger and he is very happy. You will be happy. Let me change the lens to a wide lens and show that there are 3-4 more children sitting behind who are beggars, you will feel something completely different. (For example, if I use a tight camera lens to show you a child eating a burger and looking very happy, you will feel happy too. But if I use a wide-angle lens and show you that there are three or four other children sitting behind him, who are beggars, you will feel something different).
The actor further added, “It’s all about how you look at things and from what perspective you are looking at things. The message in your film is why girls always leave their homes after marriage and make sacrifices? Why can’t a boy do the same? We are just showing a perspective.”
Mimicry and family reaction
Even after entering Bollywood, mimicry remains an important part of Chandni’s identity.
He said, “Mimicry is a part of me. People who live with me know that they are not living with one person. They are living with 10 people at once… Everyone in my family does mimicry now, including my father. When he has to narrate a story, he narrates it in his voice.”
Regarding his family’s reaction to the film, he said, “My mother has watched this film many times. She is crazy about this song.” keep turningShe started asking me when am I getting married? I had no idea that the conversation would take this turn. His day starts with that song and he has shown that song to everyone.
