Meat Trapit Bansal, IIT Grade from Openi, which is hired by Mark Zuckerberg for Meta Superintendent Dream Team
Trapit Bansal can be important not only to compete in intensifying the opportunities of the meta, but also leads the AI race against rivals, especially openi and Google.
Listen to the story

In short
- Bansal was a fundamental contributor to the development of O1 in Openai
- He left Openai in June 2025
- Reports states that he is joining the Superintending Team of Meta.
Openai chief Sam Altman boldly recently claimed that Tech veteran Meta was trying to stop the top talent from his startups behind the commonplace apps like Facebook and WhatsApp, but “None of our best people have decided to take it on it.” It turned out, Mark Zuckerberg managed to slide some past through tight railings anyway. And one of them, an AI researcher who goes under the name Trapit Bansal, can be important not only to compete meta opportunities, but also leads the AI race against rivals, especially openi and Google.
According to his LinkedIn page, Bansal left Openai in June 2025 and when he has not yet disclosed the details where he is leading, he is at a hiring spree for a deer to join the newly established “Superintendent” team of Mata, which is on a hiring spray to attract the top 100 million compensation. In OpenEE, she has served as “members of technical staff” since January 2022, leading the early successes in AI Reasoning, calls her profile.
Bansal graduated in 2012 from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics and statistics. That Ph.D. Massachusetts in Computer Science from the University of Amharst, where he specialized in meta-learning, deep learning and natural language processing. Currently, he is located outside the San Francisco, California in the US.
Before joining Openai in 2022, Bansal had already made an internship in leading companies understood as large technology including Facebook, Google and Microsoft.
In Openai, he was a fundamental contributor to the development of “O1”, Openai’s young woman commercially available AI Reasoning Model. Working closely with co-founder and chief scientist Ilya Sutaskewar-he has left OpenAI to start his AI venture called AI venture called Safe Superintendent–Bansal played an important role in shaping the initial efforts of openai in learning logic and reinforcement (AI where AI is learned through trial and errors) Its goal to achieve, is a word used to describe AI, which is more similar for humans in terms of thinking, understanding and then answering.
Now, in Meta, Bansal is asked to join a powerhouse team within the newly formed AI Superintendent Lab, including other extraordinary talents like 28-year-old former Scale AI CEO Alexandra Wang and it is a facility of more prominent names such as Gitub CEO Nut Freedman and Safe Superintendent Curm, who is able to do the Zakarbar Daniel Carm Are.
Meta does not publicly offer AI logic model. Bansal’s expertise in the designing system that can think, plan the physical world, and understand that it can help make it – and the speed – the first Frontier AI Reasoning model development that is probably equally good – and even better, perhaps – as O3 of Openi.
Along with Trapit Bansal, three other OpenIE researchers – Lucas Bayer, Alexander Kolsnikov, and Johuua Jhai – have joined the Meta’s superintendent team in recent weeks.
