Trigger warning: This article contains references to drug use.

Matthew Perry’s sudden death shocked the entire world! His Friends co-stars claimed that he was on a journey to recovery and sobriety and was helping others affected by severe drug addiction. These claims did not match his autopsy report, which cited the acute effects of ketamine as the cause of death.

However, his live-in assistant Kenneth Iwamasa has now revealed about giving the late actor repeated doses of ketamine without any medical training. Iwamasa was one of five defendants charged with crimes related to Perry’s death.

On August 15, the Justice Department announced that Iwamasa had pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine and admitted to “repeatedly” injecting Perry with the drug “without medical training,” including on October 28, 2023, the day he died.

Jasveen Sangha, aka Ketamine Queen, has been charged with multiple offenses, including one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine and one count of maintaining a drug-involved environment. Two counts of possession with intent to distribute drugs and five counts of distribution of ketamine.

Another defendant in the case, Dr. Salvador Plasencia, faces one charge of conspiracy to distribute ketamine. According to the Justice Department, another defendant, Dr. Mark Chavez, will plead guilty to one charge of conspiracy to distribute ketamine. While Eric Fleming pleaded guilty to one charge of conspiracy to distribute ketamine and one count of distributing ketamine resulting in death.

The accused who have pleaded guilty, including personal assistant Iwamasa and Fleming, face jail terms ranging from 15 to 25 years. If Sangha is found guilty, he could face a jail term of 10 years or life imprisonment.
