The much-awaited teaser of Tollywood actor Varun Tej’s Matka was released today, October 5. Directed by Karuna Kumar, the film stars Varun Tej in a never-before-seen avatar. The teaser was launched at an event in Vijayawada.

The two-minute long teaser begins with actor Sai Kumar, who plays a jailer in the film, instructing Varun’s character Vasu to join the elite and take control of 90 percent of the world’s wealth. He encourages Vasu to give up the life of struggle. Driven by ambition and an understanding of human greed, Vasu sets out to achieve success.

The teaser shows how Vasu becomes powerful and eventually becomes the biggest gangster of the city. It is unclear how he achieves success and wealth, even though it shows him at various stages of his life, including as an older man. However, it hints at his journey from an ordinary man to becoming the invincible Matka King.

Apart from Varun Tej’s character, the teaser also introduces the audience to the characters of the film’s lead actresses Nora Fatehi and Meenakshi Chaudhary. He is supported by Naveen Chandra, Kannada Kishore, Ajay Ghosh, Mime Gopi, Rupalakshmi, Vijayarama Raju, Jagadish and Raj Thirandas.

Produced by Vaira Entertainments and SRT Entertainments, Matka will release in theaters on November 14 in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam.
