MasterChef India Tamil concludes with the announcement of the winner on June 7, 2024. After a season filled with extraordinary culinary challenges and delicious dishes, Akash Muralidharan from Chennai emerged as the best MasterChef of this season.

Apart from Muralidharan, home cooks Zarina Banu, Vani Sundar and Pavithra Nalin made it to the top four. On the show, they won the hearts of both judges and audiences with their dedication to rediscovering forgotten vegetables and celebrating them by incorporating them into their dishes.

Akash Muralidharan, winner of the first season of MasterChef India Tamil, has had an impressive journey on the show. He is known for experimenting with exotic ingredients and trying out new ways to reduce food waste. He has discovered over 70 forgotten vegetables.

Akash Muralidharan’s culinary journey began in his family’s kitchen, inspired by his grandmother, mother and aunts. Although he studied architecture for five years, his passion for food led him to pursue a master’s degree in food design and innovation in Milan.

Reflecting on his journey, Akash Muralidharan said, “MasterChef has been an important part of my life, and winning the title feels like living a dream. This win is completely dedicated to my family, especially my brother, who has been my biggest supporter. I never imagined that I would be standing in the MasterChef India Tamil kitchen, wearing an apron, cooking in front of the world.”

He further added, “This journey has not only helped me hone my culinary skills but also deepened my understanding of the importance of sustainable cooking. It has further fueled my passion for preparing delicious dishes using exotic ingredients. I hope my journey inspires others to pursue their culinary dreams and make a positive impact through innovative cooking. I am excited to see what the future holds.”

The judges of MasterChef India Tamil comprised of celebrity chefs Kaushik Shankar, Shreya Adka and Rakesh Raghunathan. Their guidance helped the contestants become skilled chefs.
