A United Nations investigation concluded on Thursday that Israel performed “massacre” in Gaza through systematic destruction of sexual and reproductive health facilities.
The United Nations Commission of Inquiry said that Israel had “deliberately attacked and destroyed the main reproductive center of the Palestinian region”, as well as a siege and blocked assistance, including drugs to ensure safe conception, delivery and newborn care.
Its mission in Geneva said in a statement, “Israel clearly dismisses unfounded allegations.”
The Commission found that Israeli officials have “destroyed the fertility of Palestinians in Gaza as a group through systematic destruction of sexual and reproductive healthcare”, said in a statement.
It said that this is the amount of “two categories of massacre” during Israel’s aggressive in Gaza, which was launched on October 7, 2023 after Hamas terrorists attacks on Israel.
The United Nations’ genocide conference defines that crime, as the work done with the intention of destroying a national, ethnic, racial or religious group.
Among its five categories, investigation states that two accused of Israel have been intentionally calculated on group situations of life, which have been calculated to bring about its physical destruction “and” Improving measures to prevent births within the group “.
“These violations not only caused immediate physical and mental harm and suffering to women and girls, but also the Palestinians’ mental health and reproductive and reproductive possibilities as a group.”
The three-person Independent International Inquiry Commission was established by the United Nations Human Rights Council in May 2021 to investigate alleged international law violations in Israel and Palestinian regions.
Pillay, former head of the United Nations, served as a judge in the International Criminal Court and chaired the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
Israel accused the Commission of pushing a “predetermined and biased political agenda … … to reduce Israel defense forces in a shameless attempt”.
IVF clinic destruction
The report stated that maternity hospitals and wards were systematically destroyed in Gaza, along with the Al-BEMA IVF Center, the region’s main in-vitro fertility clinic.
It said that Al-Bama was shot in December 2023, allegedly destroyed about 4,000 fetuses in a clinic, which served 2,000 to 3,000 patients a month.
The Commission found that Israeli security forces deliberately attacked and destroyed the clinic, including all the reproductive materials stored for the future concept of Palestinians.
The Commission did not find any reliable evidence that the building was used for military purposes.
It concluded that the destruction was “a measure to prevent birth among the Palestinians in Gaza, which is a genocide work”.
In addition, the report states that the pregnant in Gaza, breastfeeding and the widespread loss to new mothers in Gaza were on a “unprecedented scale”, with an irreversible impact on the breeding possibilities of the Ghazans.
The underlying tasks in such a way “amount for crimes against humanity” and deliberately try to destroy Palestinians as a group, concluding the Commission.
‘Bhavana’
