The trailer of Timothée Chalamet’s sports-comedy ‘Marty Supreme’ was released recently. The actor plays the lead role in the film, which also stars Gwyneth Paltrow as his girlfriend.
The new trailer for Josh Safdie’s highly anticipated ping pong drama offers audiences a closer look at the mysterious prodigy, played by Timothy, and his furious drive to athletic superstardom. Although this new promo recaps the themes of the first teaser, it also gives us a better look at the large supporting cast and their roles. We see Gwyneth as the movie star turned romantically involved with the protagonist, Tyler, the Creator (Tyler Okonma), who seems to be a close confidant.
Accompanied by ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World’ from ‘Tears for Fears’, the trailer begins with a scene in a hotel room where Kendra is getting dressed. She talks to the protagonist about how he supports himself financially as he single-handedly pursues his athletic dreams. “I live by the belief that if I believe in myself, money will come to you,” he claims. And what if his ambitions don’t materialize? Marty replies: “It doesn’t even enter my consciousness.”
In other parts of the trailer, the protagonist and Okonma’s character try their luck at sports gambling, and win a good amount of money in an amateur tournament due to the main character’s talent.

‘Marty Supreme’ captures the specific atmosphere of 1950s ping pong culture. It focuses on Marty Mauser, a young man who faces ridicule for his ambitions, yet pursues greatness through chaotic means, leading to confrontations with the police, explosions, and dubious funding.
While the main story is fictional, it takes inspiration from the real-life Marty Reisman, a professional New Yorker known for his ingenuity and quick wit. The film also stars Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara and Fran Drescher.
‘Marty Supreme’ is scheduled to release on December 25, 2025.
